Go beyond the chairlifts with the Backside Sessions, a women’s splitboard clinic hosted by Pallas and friends, and learn from other ladies who share a passion for winter. Each clinic combines classroom workshops with on-snow field work. Expect to participate in group tour planning, identify terrain routes, ask questions, ride pow, and learn the finer points of apres. Free demos from Pallas and Spark R&D bindings.
(Note: These clinics are designed to give novice and intermediate splitboarders more practical field knowledge. This is NOT an AIARE-certified course.)
Learn the AIARE-endorsed best practices for rescuing your touring buddies and fellow backcountry companions in the event of an avalanche. Companion rescue clinics feature classroom discussions and hands-on practice with your backcountry tools. This course is a pre-requisite for any AIARE 2 course and a critical refresher course every year.
The AIARE 1 course is the launching pad for any backcountry adventures. The 3-day course is designed to give students a general overview of how to prepare for and embark on a backcountry trip. Students will participate in discussion and hands-on workshops relating to companion rescue techniques and basic decision making principles.
